While summer is something to be celebrated, that doesn’t mean forgetting to be safe. When it comes to having fun in the sun, being sun safe means being protected from damaging UV rays. Using sunscreen doesn’t have to take away from the experience of summer. See how Reef products have become synonymous with summer time, while providing some protection from the damaging effects of the sun’s rays.

What is SPF and how does it work?

SPF stands for Sun Protection Factor – a term describing how well a sunscreen blocks the sun’s UV rays. The SPF calculation measures how long the UVB rays would take to redden your skin when using that product compared to the time without sunscreen. In other words, when used correctly a product labelled SPF30 means it’ll take 30 times longer for your skin to burn than if you used nothing.

The highest SPF available in Australia is SPF 50+. If you follow the instructions (which of course you do) a product that is SPF50+ can block 98% of UV radiation!

Benefits of sunscreen lotions with moisturisers

The look of summer is of fresh, glowing skin and these days we know that comes from protecting it from sun damage. But that’s not all you can do to help get that glow, which is why Reef uses three main oils to nourish and hydrate your skin while the active ingredients help block the damaging UV rays. The addition of these moisturising ingredients means that Reef sunscreen lotions also smooth and soften the skin, keeping it looking luxuriously hydrated.

Keep your skin looking fresh, hydrated and most of all keep it protected this summer with Reef Sunscreen Lotions. As an added bonus you can surround yourself with the scent of summer with Reef coconut-smelling sunscreen.
